Myth II: Soulblighter is a fantasy RTS developed and
published by Bungie Software for PC and Mac. Set 60 years after the
events of Myth: The Fallen Lords, players control the
forces of the Light against the returning Fallen Lord general
Soulblighter and a resurrected race of monsters, the Myrkridia.
I co-wrote the overall story arc and then designed and scripted
most of the single-player levels using Bungie's proprietary tools
and scripting language.
- The single-player campaign comprises 25 missions, each of
which is remarkably well designed and—on the harder difficulty
levels especially—enormously challenging. (GameSpot,
9.3/10, December 1998)
- The game progresses slowly and deliberately, and the
missions work in tandem with the story. Not only does this serve
to immerse you in the game, it also allows for some nice
variations on traditional RTS missions. (PC Gamer,
88/100, May 1999)
- There is a huge variety of backdrops, from the open daytime
of a castle to the stormy bow of a ship to the dark depths of a
haunted dungeon. In the end, Myth II offers some of the
most creative and immersive environments in the industry. (GameRevolution,
A-, January 1999)
The best way to get a feel for my work on Myth II is to play the
demo, which
includes three of my levels:
Into the Breach, The
Baron, and Gonen’s Bridge.
